Jason is from Pearsall, Texas and currently lives in San Antonio, Texas. He loves spending time with his children and beautiful wife, Julia. He maintains a storied career within the South Texas EMS community. He believes in team work, great presentation and is detail oriented. It goes without saying but, he’s pretty much the life of the party here at Summit Landscape & Design and Dunlay Material.
Felipe Alaniz Jr
Irrigation Technician
Felipe was born in Uvalde, Texas but raised in Castroville, Texas. He has worked with Summit Landscape and Design for over two years. His favorite plant would be a Venus flytrap because “They catch insects and are able to live in poor soil since they get nutrients from the bugs they consume.”
Tanner Maloney
Installation Team Leader
Tanner is from Woodlands, Texas and moved to South Texas 5 years ago. He is also part of one of the family duos within the Team - he gets to call John Maloney, “Dad”. Away from Summit Landscape and Design, he loves to make music and spend time in creative activities. His favorite tree is the Texas Madrone which is frequently found out in the Hill Country.
Christian Moreno
Maintenance Team Leader
Christian, originally from Uvalde, has been with Summit for 3 years now. He enjoys getting practice in at the shooting range and playing video games. He also loves spending time with his girlfriend and his daughter, Emilee. Christian is also a big Texas Longhorns fan!
Calvin Bradley

Installation Production Manager
Calvin has been with Summit Landscape and Design for over 9 years and is a huge part of the culture! When he’s not investing in the Team here at Summit Landscape and Design; he loves watching his kids play sports, going fishing, and cooking. For him, being outside is like being on a playground! His favorite plant is the Pecan Tree because, “Pecan is my favorite kind of pie.”
Marie Grove
Finance Manager
Marie came on-board to Summit Landscape back in 2019 when she and her family relocated to San Antonio from Dover AFB, Delaware. Her husband landed an instructor position at the schoolhouse at Lackland AFB. Marie grew up on Long Island, NY and obtained her Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics with a minor in Business from SUNY New Paltz (upstate New York) #gohawks. Since working at Summit, she decided to pursue her Master's Degree in Accounting and Finance with SNHU! Marie and her family love Texas so much that they decided to grow some roots up in the Hill Country and are loving the small-ranch life with their 2 kids and many chickens! She loves to garden and be outdoors when she's not slinging numbers around.
Josiah Peterson

Founder
Josiah was born and raised in Medina County. Because of his passion for creating beautiful environments and helping others, he founded Summit Landscape and Design in 1999 with a huge vision for the future! In his free time he loves spending time with his wife, Kristen, and their three kids, Kate, Banner and Hattie. He loves working with his hands, anything from a home remodel project to playing guitar and piano.
Eric Kopacsi
Installation Project Manager
Eric grew up in New Jersey and spent his summers down at the Shore (yes, that Jersey Shore). He moved to Texas to attend Texas A&M University right after high school. He later made his way to San Antonio after a couple of years of “studies,” and has been in San Antonio ever since. In 2003, he received his Bachelor’s in Business Administration from UIW. Eric currently has been involved in the landscape industry for over 30 years. He enjoys the outdoors and spending time with my wife and family.
Joel Templeton

HR and Recruiting Manager
Joel is the Recruiting and HR Manager for Summit Landscape and Design. Originally from the little Panhandle town of Cotton Center, TX, a place so small it makes Hondo seem like a metropolis, he has called Abilene, TX home for more than a decade. When he is not at work, he enjoys pursuing his passion for cooking and shares his passion with others whenever he is able. “As a new member of the Summit team, I am looking forward to becoming immersed in all the traditions and culture Summit has to offer. I hear Weiner Wednesday's are one event that should NOT be missed. If you or someone you know is in search of their next career, please give me a call. I cannot wait to meet you!”
BenJamin Mazuca

Ben, originally from San Antonio, has been with Summit Landscape and Design for over 2 years. He enjoys taking his family and dog to various rivers and lakes across South Texas. He loves to be outdoors, especially in the Hill Country. His favorite tree is the Mountain Laurel, because of its flowers aroma.

Reid is originally from Terrell, Texas and attended Texas State University (The Harvard of Texas). In his free time, he enjoys golfing, fishing, hunting, and spending time with family and friends. He also believes that, “Die Hard”, is a Christmas Movie!
Anthony Kelley
Fertilization Technician
Anthony was born and raised in Flint, MI, where he attended gradeschool with his beautiful fiancé, Teagan. They recently moved to Castroville when she accepted a position as the new Equine Veterinarian in town. He has a degree in automotive high-performance technologies from UNOH in Ohio and loves working with his hands. Anthony had spent 10 years in the lawn service industry back home and is excited to be learning the South Texas ways of the trade with Summit Landscape and Design!
JoshUA Vasquez

Joshua was born and raised in the great Tex-Mex city of San Antonio, Texas. He loves spending time with his 2 beautiful Boston Terriers, Buster and Nugget! He also really enjoys playing video games and not missing any days at work! Josh is passionate about Summit because of the enthusiastic energy he receives from his colleagues. Laramie Vernor
Executive Assistant / Social Media Specialist
Laramie was raised in Medina County and has been with Summit Landscape and Design for over 1 year! She enjoys spending her time outdoors, whether that means hiking, playing sports, or fishing. She loves being able to capture smiles from Team members and then share those moments on Summit’s social media pages. Along with working at Summit, she manages her online store, “The Jazzy Cactus.” She is passionate about Summit’s values, and loves being a part of the Summit family!

Jonathon is originally from Kerrville, Texas, and moved here 4 years ago with his beautiful wife and two beautiful daughters. He lives by the motto, “If you’re not first, you’re last!” ~Shake and Bake~
Daniel Rocha
Mechanic
Daniel is a seasoned veteran, having served in both the US Army Reserve and the US Navy. In 1999, he graduated from Texas A&M University in Corpus Christi, earning a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice. In his spare time, he enjoys fixing things, collaborating with others, and spending quality time with his loved ones. His favorite flower is the rose as he appreciates their beauty.
Victoria Carter
Client and New Hire Receptionist
Victoria is from Medina County and lives in D’Hanis, Texas. Outside of work, she loves being active by painting and participating in sporting events like sand volleyball. She also claims to be a coffee connoisseur; it is very rare to see her without a cup in her hand. She is determined and always strives for success no matter the circumstance. She’ll do whatever it takes to put a smile on your face!

Jason has been with Summit Landscape and Design for over a year now! He enjoys spending time with his dogs and pet fish. When he’s not with them, he’s making memories with his wonderful wife. Jason’s passions include cultivating plants and working on his truck. Him and his wife are eagerly awaiting the arrival of their little one!
Tricia Portor
AR / AP Specialist
Tricia grew up on a dairy farm in upstate New York. Tricia’s very successful 20 year career as a Senior Leader for Large Retail Chains has allowed her to live all over the United States including Hawaii. Tricia and her husband semi-retired from their corporate lives and became full-time RV’ers which brought them to Hondo. They have really enjoyed being part of this community and have decided to put down roots and become a bigger part of the South Texas community. When she is not working, she can be found in her workshop designing handbags from all of the exotic animals found in South Texas or enjoying outdoor activities such as hiking, kayaking, paddle boarding, and birdwatching.
Josh Dowling
Remote Business Developer
Josh is originally from San Antonio, and resides on the Texas Gulf Coast with his wife, Heather, and their 2 boys. He attended UTSA and ASU and has a background in engineering and organizational management. He currently serves on several local and regional boards including the San Antonio Chapter of the International Facility Managers Association (IFMA). When not working, you can find Josh out fishing with his kids or cooking. His favorite plant is the Hibiscus because, "It reminds me of the ocean - which is now my home!”
John Maloney
Account Manager
John has worked with Summit Landscape and Design for over 6 years. John grew up in Iowa, but came to Texas in 1983. He met his wife Carol in 1984, became a Texan and they have now been married for 33 years. They have four kids, two girls and two boys. John has an Associate Degree in Horticulture and is licensed as a TDA Pesticide Applicator and Licensed Irrigator as well as a Licensed Back Flow inspector.

Chris was born and raised in San Antonio, TX, but is now happy to call Hondo, TX home. He loves spending time with his fiancé and their kids, Kaedyn and Thomas. He enjoys spending time outdoors, hunting and fishing, and playing sports with the kids! He is also a huge Atlanta Braves fan!
Ethan Vaughan

Ethan is from Hondo, Texas and has been with Summit Landscape and Design for 6 years. He enjoys drawing and loves building models. His favorite plant is the Lantana because, "They're easy to maintain, very colorful and the smell reminds me of Fruity Pebbles for some reason.”

Jonathan is our General Manager and ownership Partner with his brother, Josiah. Jonathan’s passion for the green industry and construction runs deep. However, Jonathan's love for the people on this Team is greater than his passion for the industry. “While landscape and construction are great, it’s about the people on this Team. Landscape is just what we do.” Jonathan is married to his beautiful wife, Morgan. Together with their kids Weston and Laurel, they are regularly involved in community, church and industry functions. Jonathan serves on multiple boards in the community and surrounding area. Jonathan is also involved in industry growth and awareness. From presenting to students on their potential in our industry, to speaking at conferences and events sharing the unique #summitdifference.
Jared Salemme
General Construction Project Manager
Jared is originally from Las Vegas, Nevada and moved to San Antonio, Texas in 2017. He graduated from Regis University with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration. Jared has a long history and passion for the construction and landscaping industry, first working with his Dad’s architecture firm, then later as a Project Manager for residential projects. In his spare time, Jared enjoys working on cars and traveling around the world with his wife. Jared has been with Summit Landscape and Design for over a year and specializes in pool and general contracting projects.
Austin Vaughan

Austin was born and raised in Hondo, Texas. For over 4 years here at Summit Landscape and Design he has been striving to improve his work ethic and do anything he can to help his company achieve Core Values. Austin is high energy and sets the pace for all around him.
Josh Mcdonel
Fleet and Facilities Manager
Josh is from Corpus Christi, TX and moved to San Antonio in 2011. He is a father of 3 children, and husband to his beautiful wife Debra! In addition to being Summit Landscape and Design's Fleet and Facilities Manager, Josh and his wife own a dog boarding business named, Pinky's Pet Resort. Josh enjoys spending his time off with his family and getting in a round of golf when time permits. He also loves playing his guitar, and making music! Josh loves learning new things and is always looking to improve his skills!
Bill Brown
Installation Team Leader
Bill was Idaho born, Wyoming raised, and as of 2017 a Texas resident in the Hondo area. He enjoys being outside, working with his hands, and helping others anyway he is able. With an extensive knowledge across a number of different skill sets, he prides himself as a problem solver. As unforeseen complications do arise time to time with new installations, he always stands ready and confident to find a solution with a good attitude and the words, "Where there's a Bill, there's a way."

Matthew is originally from Archer City, Texas and has lived in the San Antonio area for more than 15 years. He graduated from Texas Tech University with a degree in Landscape Architecture. He has two kids, Abigail and Joseph, and a beautiful wife, Mary. Matthew enjoys golfing, bird hunting, and working cattle on the ranch back home. His favorite tree is a Lace Bark Elm!
